Intermediate Workshop: Coil-Building Large forms
Perfect for those seeking to create large jars without the use of a wheel, this workshop focuses on the traditional coil-building technique. By the end of the session, you'll have a stunning, hand-built moon jar to showcase your skills.
What’s Included:
- 2 two-hour lecture
- 2 two-hour working time with an instructor available for guidance and demonstrations
- 5 kg of clay
Session Details:
- Duration: 4 hours
- Learn coil-building techniques and complete one large piece during the session
Experience the Process:
Your moon jar will dry slowly in a controlled environment before undergoing its first firing (bisque fire). We’ll then glaze your piece with care and prepare it for the second firing (glaze fire). This process typically takes up to 3 weeks. If you haven’t received your piece after 3 weeks, feel free to reach out to us.
Preparation and Items to Bring:
1.Dress in clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit muddy.
2.We will supply an apron, but you are welcome to bring your favorite one if you prefer!
3.Please trim your nails and keep your hair tiedback.
*Please note that during the ceramics process, there is a chance of breakage at the firing, glazing, and finishing stages. Although our team diligently works to ensure your pieces are completed safely, unexpected incidents can occur. The color of the glaze may not be 100% accurate due to the nature of glaze and firing.
